View full post on TwitterIn February 2013, the much larger Chelyabinsk meteor streaked across the sky before exploding in the atmosphere, causing significant damage and injuring nearly 1,500. That “superbolide” was estimated to weight about 13 million kilograms before entering the Earth’s atmosphere.According to Saran Poshyachinda, Deputy Director of National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand, speaking to CNN, this rock was likely “a few kilograms.” Which means, luckily, the Bangkok bolide was more like a morning light show than something more serious.
