Google Glass is the most divisive consumer technology ever—besides the weird future fashion, it turns out that people generally don’t want to be filmed surreptitiously. But if there’s one guy who’s figured out how to use Glass correctly, it’s Casey Neistat, the filmmaker whose specialty is short-length YouTube-optimized videos.Besides his daily vlog and personal videos, he’s done movies for J. Crew, Mercedes-Benz, and Nike. His videos use lots of POV scenes, and he’s a fan of Glass’s camera. He also builds crazy stuff in his studio, like a $1 iPhone dock and a gold-ified Apple Watch. In this video, he’s taken Google Glass and made them less dorky by removing the key components, spray-painting the exterior, and mounting them to a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers. All you need is a blowtorch, some painter’s tape, and a used unit of the the now-discontinued Google Glass.View full post on YoutubeAlexander GeorgeSenior EditorAs Editor in Chief, Alexander oversees all of Popular Mechanics’ editorial coverage across digital, print, and video.
